At the age of 16 i had stopped playing football and participating in the sports i used to enjoy as a child , and after a year of no exercise as a teenagers i started to realise how my body was changing . when my aunty asked me if i wanted to join the gym with her i decided it was a good idea and an opportunity for me to get into good shape and start thinking about my health , at first i didn't really have a clue what i was doing and realised very quickly that food was probably going to be the biggest factor i would have to change as exercise was something i was used to and having never really enjoyed eating vegetables or ever been particularly adventurous with my food choices i decided to change that and as a young student studying the sciences decided to throw myself into researching everything i needed to know about nutrition. This lead to me changing my diet slowly and altering as i go over time until i found something that suited me and that was something i could maintain. I then went on to study sports nutrition at university which opened up a whole other level of research and became interested on the best ways to go about coaching other people with their nutrition as the biggest element is DIFFERENT WAYS OF EATING WORK FOR DIFFERENT PEOPLE. this is both with maintainability , how their bodies react to food an what they actually enjoy eating.
Growing up i played ALL the sports , football ,swimming , cricket , netball , everything i always enjoyed playing and competing , when i joined the gym i in-habitually found a way i could make it competitive in a way that i would enjoy and that is when i started training for power lifting , i have been competing and training for 5/6 years now and have truly found my own personal passion in the strength sports and wish to compete for the rest of my adulthood in both power lifting and any other strength sports i try.
Coaching for me was something i had started to do from the age of about 15 during PE and sometimes outside of school for my local football team. i started off coaching children but as i got to university would coach my friends and other people who would ask me for advice in the gym. during university i started to intern at the strength gym and after getting my coaching qualifications i started to coach the hull university power lifting team , a group i started with a friend of mine so my university could compete against others and also started to coach at teach PE and multi skill sports to young children. after moving back to Liverpool i wanted to join a new power lifting gym and found Taylor's Strength and also saw they wee hiring a new coach and decided to apply , i now coach there with a team of amazing coaches and athletes.
